Ben Rossouw is the newest team member at Forte School of Music. Ben teaches piano and theory lessons at Forte. While Ben is highly qualified in classical piano, he has a passion for jazz piano as well! Whether you are a beginner, looking for classical piano study, or looking to learn some jazz piano, Ben is the teacher for you!
Ben’s musical training:
Ben grew up in the Cowichan Valley, and recently graduated from Brentwood College School. Ben has completed his Grade 9 Royal Conservatory of Music in piano, as well as his Grade 7 Theory. While in high school, Ben discovered his love of jazz music and began pursuing studies in jazz piano as well as classical. Ben was a leader of jazz quartet in 2020 that was invited to Nationals, after receiving Gold at the West Coast Jazz Festival.

Ben enjoys teaching piano to individuals with a wide variety of musical backgrounds and abilities, and is excited to work with a wide array of students with varying musical interests.

A very fun musical fact about Ben is that he is currently teaching his Dad how to play the piano!

His current favourite is the jazz standard ‘Autumn Leaves’ which was composed by Joseph Kosma.
